PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectangular litz wire having an excellent winding characteristic for winding a coil for an electrical device and a large coil space factor after coil winding, and facilitating downsizing, performance enhancing, and energy saving simultaneously. SOLUTION: (1) A rectangular litz wire is appended length wise an adhesive tape applied with an adhesive material or a thermoplastic material on the peripheral face of the wire. (2) Bonded sections impregnated with adhesive and non-bonded sections not impregnated with adhesive are arranged alternately lengthwise along the rectangular litz wire. (3) Thermally fusible sections and non-thermally fusible sections are repeatedly arranged alternately in a longitudinal direction along the rectangular litz wire through self-fusible enameled wires as strands.
