<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody capable of simply and accurately detecting expression of a humanα2,3-sialic acid transferase (ST3Gal IV) at the site of cancer, inflammatory disease, allergic disease, or the like, by making the antibody recognize the human ST3Gal IV. SOLUTION: This antibody recognizes ST3Gal IV. The antibody is a monoclonal antibody derived from a mouse belonging to an IgGl subclass and is monoclonal antibody KM1,652. The antibody is produced from a hybridoma KM1,652 (FERM BP-6,422). Preferably, immunological detection immune tissue staining and immunological determination of ST3Gal IV, are preferably carried out by using the antibody.
