An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprises a polynucleotide (PN) having a nucleotide sequence (NS) at least 95% identical to a sequence selected from:(a) a NS encoding the chemokine ~b-15 (CB15) polypeptide having the 149 amino acid sequence given in the specification; (b) a NS encoding the mature CB15 polypeptide having an amino acid sequence from positions 1-129 of the 149 amino acid sequence; (c) a NS encoding the CB15 polypeptide having the complete amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC No. 97519; (d) a NS encoding the mature CB15 polypeptide having the amino acid sequence encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC No: 97519; and (e) a NS complementary to a NS as in (a)-(d).
