METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CALIBRATING DIAMETER OF RAILROAD VEHICLE WHEELS USING ARTIFICIAL VISION

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for calibrating diameter of railroad vehicle wheels using artificial vision are provided to easily calibrate a diameter of a railroad vehicle wheels. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a rolling rail(2) for calibrating the railroad vehicle wheels(1), a guard rail(8) for maintaining centroid of the wheels, a plurality of light source(3) for interfering a plurality of compact light beams by projecting the plurality of compact light beams, an opacity filter for reflecting a plurality of images generated by the compact light beams, a video camera(5) for getting an image reflected by the opacity filter, a computer(6) connected to the video camera(5).
