The procedure for the fabrication and mounting of the frame, which has a concave profile, designed to receive the edge of the glass panel, starts with the production of a straight length (20) of the desired profile, for the frame required. The length of material is fitted with areas of reduced resistance to folding (23 to 25) at predetermined points, such that the areas correspond to the corners (14 to 16) in the frame. The frame is then folded manually into the required shape and fitted into the vehicle part.
