A method of installing crosslinked thermoplastic pipe comprises laying a pipeline of crosslinkable plastics material and subsequently causing or allowing the plastics material to crosslink. The crosslinkable plastics material is preferably a polyethylene or the like to which vinyl silane groups are grafted, crosslinking being brought about by exposure to moisture.
