DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RETRIEVING IMAGE BY STRAIGHT LINE AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a similar image retrieval system using image feature quantity which is easy for a user to designate. SOLUTION: In order to register images to be retrieved, the images are inputted and a feature vector information extraction part 12 detects straight lines in the images to extract feature vector information of them. A feature vector storage management part 13 stores feature vectors of the straight lines as indexes to the images in a data base. For image retrieval, straight line information is inputted by the user through a feature vector information input part 14 for a straight line as a retrieval key and a similar feature vector retrieval part 15 retrieves an image having a feature vector similar to the feature vector of the straight line inputted by the user. A retrieval result image output part 16 outputs retrieved images in the decreasing order of their similarities.
