PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel permitting a smooth and exact movement of a frame member when the lens barrel has the movable frame member. SOLUTION: In a state of image pickup preparation and image pickup, a 3rd group frame 23 supported by guide shafts 24, 25 to a 2nd group frame 22 is supported to freely slide along a guide shaft 27 in a state of being biased by a compression spring 26, and positioned by being linked with a movable cam follower 28 of a separate body driven by a cam groove. Moreover, when moving into a state of a sunken body, the lens barrel is brought into the state of the sunken body by forcibly compressing the compression spring 26 by a camera main body to release the 3rd group frame 23 from the linked state and making it approach to the 2nd group frame 22.
