PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support body for a fall-prevention fence which can be constructed even in a construction site where scaffolds can not be erected or a location distant from scaffolds and which is not dangerous but safe in the installation work because it is different from such a type of support body as it is fixed to rafters and further, which does not require a cutting work by which a building frame body is damaged owing to a fixing work therefor. SOLUTION: A support body is provided to install and fix crosspieces as a fall-prevention fence at least at a part of the periphery of a building. In this case, a fixing part 32 for the crosspieces constituting the fence is provided in one arm 30 or the other arm 31, in a body constituted of a vertical support body 2 and at least one arm 30 projected upward, and further, an engaging member 5 is provided to regulate the larger shift than a specified horizontal distance of the body.
