The invention relates to a fire extinguishing device comprising a pressure resisting container used to contain an extinguishing agent composed of a carrier and another component; an ascending pipe which extends inside said container and is connected to a conduit whose end located outside the container comprises a unit used to discharge said extinguishing agent; and a triggering mechanism which can be actuated to expulse the extinguishing agent from the container under the effect of a propeller agent, through the ascending pipe and the unit connected to said pipe. The invention is used to cool durably an ignition source, to avoid transfer of radiating heat and to reliably prevent rekindle of an extinguished fire. For that purpose, said carrier is composed of water and the other component contains a liquid dispersion which turns into a gel when it is mixed with water. |
