PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inorganic antimicrobial and fungicidal agent that can sufficiently manifest its antimicrobial properties in the resin product after the agent is added to the parent resin material and fabricated to the products inexpensively with high safety without adverse effect on the basic performance of the resin products and is useful for protection of food package, vessel and the like from bacteria and fungi by using fired dolomite. SOLUTION: The fired dolomite that is preferably fired at 900-1,200 deg.C, preferably mainly comprises magnesium oxide and calcium oxide is admixed to the composition in an amount of >=25 wt.%. The antimicrobial activity of this agent is preferably >=85% to both colon bacillus and staphylococcus. This agent can retain extremely high antimicrobial effect against the staphylococcus secreting the toxin causing food poisoning and the colon bacillus 0-157 and can be widely applied to a chopping board, kitchenware, refrigerator and the like as well as to the daily necessaries for toilet, bathroom and the like susceptible to the secondary infection.
