The present invention relates to a mixer for mixing and starting a starch hydrolysis reaction starting from cereal raw material, water and starch hydrolysing enzymes, whereby it comprises a) a dosing apparatus (2) comprising a counter pressure fan (3), b) a reaction vessel (7) provided with a tube (9) for feeding water and placed below the product level in the reaction vessel (7), and a tube (10) for feeding enzymes and placed above the product level in the reaction vessel (7), c) a mixing unit comprising mixing propellers (14) having on one hand a down feeding function close to the centre shaft of the mixing unit, on the other hand upwardly feeding function for an intense stirring in said reaction vessel (7), and d) an outlet (11) for taking out reaction mixture obtained in the mixer. |
