PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the rotor of an AC generator for a vehicle which can restrain damages to a winding and generation of disconnection which are caused by bending and twisting at the winding start part of a field winding. SOLUTION: In a field winding 15 having a flat square shape, its winding start side is wound around an anchor part, accommodated in a recessed trench 161, led out from the inner peripheral end of the recessed trench 161 to a part on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical part 16a of a bobbin 16, bridged from one frange part 16b side as far as the other frange part 16b on te outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 16a of the bobbin 16, and wound at an angle to a surface which intersects perpendicular with respect to a shaft core on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 16a of the bobbin 16.
