<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly expandable router configuration technology which flexibly copes with the need of line reinforcement of a router due to the large scale of a network. SOLUTION: A network information sharing means 14 is newly provided in a path calculation mechanism 20 of each router 12 constituting a cluster type router 11. The means 14 receives the updation notice of network information 16 collected by a routing protocol 15 and transmits this updation information as a network information notice packet 19 to the whole other routers 12 constituting the cluster type router 11. The network information sharing means 14 in a receiving destination router 12 notifies the contents of the received updation information to the routing protocol 15. The protocol 15 updates network information 16 belonging to itself based on the notified contents. Thus, network information 16 obtained from the entire routers existing outside the cluster type router 11 is shared by each router 12 and the cluster type router 11 is externally recognized as a single router.</p> |
