<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a trace input/output device which can output a trace written on a writing surface so that the writer can see it. SOLUTION: The completion of the writing of one line is detected (S42:Yes) and data D(n) for which character recognition has not been done are retrieved (S44), and when there are data D(n) for which character recognition is not done (S46:Yes), the handwriting character image corresponding to the data D(n) is read out (S48) and compared with characters stored in a character strong area to extract the most similar character, which is recognized (S50). The handwriting character image is compared with respective handwriting specification data stored in a handwriting specification table to extract the writer corresponding to the most similar handwriting specification data and it is estimated that the extracted writer has written the read-out handwriting character image (S52). The character recognition result and writer estimation result are stored in the part corresponding to D(n) in a writing storage area.</p> |
