PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the variation of the sensitivity of an image carrying body and to improve the accuracy of the control of image density by constituting so that a toner image used for the setting of image forming condition includes plural region varied in the image forming condition and is continuously formed along the region of a image carrying body to be detected. SOLUTION: The toner image used for the setting of the image forming conditions is constituted so as to include plural region varied in the image forming condition and to continuously form along the region of the image carrying body. That is, the non-image forming part of a photoreceptor is prevented from the irradiation with light from an optical density sensor by constituting the image for detecting, which is formed on the photoreceptor at the time of controlling the image density, so as to include the region varied in the development bias and to continuously form. In this device, the image for detecting, which is formed by developing the toner image, is moved to a position facing the optical density sensor by the rotation of a photosensitive drum. The optical density sensor causes a LED of the light emitting part to light directly before the initial output detecting position and to light-off directly after the final detecting position. |
