PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispose of a writing error which is produced during data recording so as not to produce malfunction during data reproduction afterwards. SOLUTION: When a writing error is produced while information is recorded in a session which is the predetermined recording section of a disc 17 and track recording is unsuccessful, if a system controller 11 receives an instruction that session management information (TOC) is to be recorded in the session information management region of the error section from a host computer which is an upper hierarchy device, after the system controller 11 records the session management information (TOC) of the session, the system controller 11 records file management information recorded in a session immediately before the error session into the file information management part of the next new session.
