SOLUTION: The vertical driving circuit 18 is constituted such that, for example, it is provided with a shift register, level shifter and buffer, that its scanning direction (driving direction) is vertically reversible, and that, in other words, it is scannable in either directions. The scanning direction depends on the shift direction (reverse direction) of the shift register, By using this vertical driving circuit 18 scannable in both directions, whether a user arranges an external IC circuit TABIC(1) 28-1 to TABIC (k) 28-k above or below a liquid crystal display panel 14 by preference, he can deal with it by merely changing the scanning direction of the vertical driving circuit 18 in accordance with the arrangement, without externally installing field memory for the purpose of rearranging image data.
