PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily carry out the roll changing operation of embossing processing so as to deal with a small lot in a paper machine for producing a pattern paper. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a pattern paper by installing a top and a bottom rolls 4a and 4b at the inlet part of a dryer after the press part of a paper machine, patterning the rolls 4a and 4b and carrying out an embossing processing, either or both of the rolls 4a and 4b are provided with flexographic plates F, a wet paper P is passed between the top and the bottom rolls and the wet paper P is embossed.
