<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a septic tank without needing the release of excess air while properly forming a biomembrane surface with a required quantity of air by providing an air supply device to a diffusion pipe with a plurality of air discharging parts and controlling the number of air discharging parts corresponding to the required quantity of air. SOLUTION: A catalytic aeration vessel houses a catalytic filter medium for fixing aerobic microorganisms and the diffusion pipe 3 for supplying air to give required air is disposed therein. The air supply device 9 for supplying air to the diffusion pipe 3 is constituted of a blower provided with air supply parts 9a, 9b and 9c, and the quantity of air corresponding to the load is supplied by a control mechanism W provided with an manually switchable switch mechanism 10. The air supply operation is started with one air supply part first and is shifted to two air supply parts while observing the degree of the growth of the biomembrane. When the growth of the biomembrane is achieved, the operation is changed to the full operation with 3 air supply parts. After that, the number of operating parts is selected while observing the load state.</p> |
