PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacture method of a housing of a ball joint which can easily be molded by forging with high dimensional accuracy and improve in manufacturable property. SOLUTION: A swage raw material provided with a handle part by drawing one end of a raw material by forging is formed. The swage raw material is inserted in an insertion recessed part in a lower mold part of an intermediate forging mold device, an inner chamber 16 is formed by pressing one end surface with a pressing pin, and a main opening part 66 is opened by a sloped surface. An excess thickness 67 is formed swollen by flowing outward to an outer peripheral edge of the main opening part 66 with a thickness flow of press molding, and an intermediate molded unit 51 is formed. The intermediate molded unit 51 is mounted locking the excess thickness to an edge of a mounting recessed part 76 in a lower mold 71 of a finish forging mold device 70. A punch pin 79 is abutted in the inner chamber 16, a tapered surface 78 abuts the main opening part 66, the excess thickness 67 is cut off while regulating a thickness flow, and finish forging molding is performed by piercing a first housing 11. The vicinity of an opening part 14 giving an influence to a vibration angle and extraction strength can be formed with high accuracy only by forging.
