PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately chamfer the outer peripheral edges of the ends of a plurality of pipes and bars with different diameters by providing a plurality of guide cylinder portions with different diameters into which a pipe or a bar to be chamfered is guided, by providing walls which receive the tip of the pipe or the bar at the depth of each guide cylinder portion, and providing a cutting blade at a corner portion of each wall. SOLUTION: When a synthetic resin made pipe 3 with an outer diameter substantially equal to the inner diameter of a second guide cylinder portion 13 for large diameter is chamfered, the pipe 3 is inserted into the second guide cylinder portion 13, and is pressed to a position where the outer peripheral edge of the pipe 3 touches a knife- edge of a cutting blade 2b. The outer peripheral edge of the pipe 3 is chamfered by rotating the pipe 3 over one cycle while pressing the tip surface of the pipe to the knife-edge until the tip surface of the pipe touches a wall 17. Then, while a tip portion of a reference line marking too such as a magic marker is parallel with the edge of an opening of the second guide cylinder portion 13, the tip of the standard line marking tool is pressed on the surface of the pipe 3, and the pipe 3 is rotated one or more cycles to write a standard line on the outer peripheral surface of the pipe 3. For chamfering a small-diameter pipe, the pipe is inserted into a first guide cylinder portion 12, and the similar work is performed.
