PURPOSE: A SRM encoding device for detecting a location and controlling a speed is provided to perform on/off switching at an accurate position and a stable driving on a speed area of wide range by designing a SRM controller using an encoder for SRM drive. CONSTITUTION: A SRM encoding device for detecting a location and controlling a speed comprises: a circular plate; a pattern; a first photo coupler; and a second coupler. The circular plate rotates according to a rotation axis of a motor. The pattern is formed on the circular plate. The first photo coupler irradiates a light on the pattern and receives the reflected light. The second photo coupler irradiates a light on the pattern, receives the reflected light, and outputs a voltage according to the amount of the received light. The first and the second photo couplers output two triangle waves having a phase difference when the first and the second photo couplers is connected electrically and the pattern is rotated.
