PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a scale of a line and the number of external terminals and to reduce a scale and development man-hours of the firmware by processing data through any of plural SONET/SDH lines and selected and outputted by a selector according to a clock corresponding to a transmission rate through the line. SOLUTION: This set is provided with a physical layer termination section 100a that terminates a 155.52 Mbps line, a physical layer termination section 100b that terminates a 622.08 Mbps, and a common section 200 that houses the physical layer termination sections 100a, 100b. A selector 201 of the common section 200 selects definitely either of outputs from the physical layer termination sections 100a, 100b based on system setting. A SONET/SDH termination processing section 202 processes output data of th selector 201 according to a program stored in a firmware 203. The SONET/SDH termination processing section 202 housing lines different in transmission rate and the firmware 203 are constituted in common in this way.
