PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas collecting device whose structure is simple and which can absorb a sufficient gas even by using an absorption liquid in a small amount by a method wherein an upper-part tube body whose inside diameter is larger than that of a lower-part tube body is formed in the upper part of the collecting device, the lower-part tube body is filled with the absorption liquid and a gas which is introduced from the lower part is discharged via the upper-part tube body. SOLUTION: An upper-part tube body 12 whose inside diameter is larger than that of a lower-part tube body 11 is formed in the upper part of the lower-part tube body 11 at an impinger 10, Then, an absorption liquid is injected up to the monitoring position of a level sensor 9 from the connecting port D of a solenoid valve 16. After that, a sample gas is sucked into the impinger 10 from the connecting port A of a solenoid valve 17 by using a sample-gas suction pump 6 which is connected to the connecting port D of the solenois valve 16. Then, the gas is bubbled near the upper part of the lower-part tube body 11 whose inside diameter is slender. A part of the absorption liquid is spouted up to the upper-part tube body 12 whose inside diameter is large, and it is bubbled repeatedly. As a result, it is possible to prevent the absorption liquid from overflowing. Consequently, since the lower- part tube body 11 can be formed to be slender, the amount of a gas to be dissolved in the absorption liquid can be increased, and the collecting efficiency of the gas can be enhanced.
