Method to improve cardiac X-ray image; involves selecting images from sequence that satisfy condition of minimal movement

The method involves acquiring a series of X-ray images and storing those images that satisfy a predetermined criterion of minimal movement. A permanent improved image may be obtained by making the last of a series shorter but with a higher X-ray dose or by searching a series to find the two images most closely corresponding due to minimum heart movement. Alternatively arterial pressure may be used to determine the end of the diastolic period and select the best picture.
