PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict color slippage, caused by the contact/separation of a transfer mechanism, to the smallest degree. SOLUTION: During consecutive color image formation at least in two or more colors, the control of a color-slippage correction means is switched depending on, for example, whether the page is a first one or a second one and after. That is, even when the transfer roller 10 is brought into contact with the intermediate transfer body 9, a latent-image forming position P is altered by switching the control of the color-slippage control means between the first page that is not influenced by the contact and the second page and after that are influenced by the contact. Therefore, the influence of color slippage in each status is restricted to the smallest degree and optimum color- slippage-correction is achieved. |
