RECORDED DEFECT REPLACING METHOD FOR DISK SHAPED RECORDING MEDIUM AND DISK SHAPED RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly efficiently use the recording area of a disk shaped recording medium by performing the discriminating of a defective sector in a sector unit and replacingly recording only the sector discriminated to be defective to suppress the substitutive area of defective sectors to the minimum when a recording format distributedly recording the data error detectingly and correctingly coded with a product code in plural sectors is used in a disk recording device. SOLUTION: Data are error detectingly and correctingly encoded doubly in row and column directions by a coding means 13 and the data are divided into a sector unit and the data coded in the sector unit are respectively recorded in sectors on the first recording area (ADS) of a disk shaped recording medium 8 and whether a sector is a defective sector or not is discriminated by reproducing the sectors and when the sector is discriminated to be a defective sector, the slipping of the sector unit performing the recording of subsequent data by skipping only the defective sector and by successively slipping sectors later than the defective sector by one sector is performed.
