PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-operated earth pressure gauge which detect earth pressures which are free from error caused by water pressure. SOLUTION: When a liquid-operated earth pressure gauge detects the pressure transmitted to a secondary diaphragm 2 from a primary diaphragm 1 for detecting earth pressure through a pressure medium 4, the gauge cancels the amount of deflection caused by the water pressure in the earth from the amount of deflection of the secondary diaphragm 2 by using the amount of deflection obtained from a water pressure compensating diaphragm 3 provided to only receive the water pressure in the earth through a filter 5 so that the diaphragm 3 may not detect the earth pressure.
