<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously compress information without executing compilation before encoding and designating a compiling point and to improve workability. SOLUTION: When a discontinuity detection/control circuit 15 detects that an input picture signal becomes normal, it loads a frame head address when written, which is latched by an address latch 16, on an address generation circuit 17. When the head position of the initial frame of the input picture signal is detected after normal restoration is detected, a system returns to the frame head address and writing into a memory 18 is resumed. A HALT signal to a compression processing circuit 19 is released and a compression processing on picture data which is read from the memory 18 is resumed by original sequence immediately after a compression operation is stopped.</p> |
