PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent development of a recessed part on a joining part by providing projecting parts projecting toward a rotating body on objects to be joined, and locating the rotating body at a prescribed position to execute frictional-stirring joining. SOLUTION: An end part of a hollow plate-frame work 50 is inserted into an end part of a hollow plate-frame work 60, and near the end part of the hollow plate-work 50 there is a vertical plate 54 joining a plate 51 and a plate 52. On an extension of a center line in the direction of thickness of the plate 54, end parts of the thick parts (projecting parts) 56, 66 for joining the hollow plate-frame works 50, 60 (end parts (each, center of the joining part) of butt parts of the hollow plate-frame work 50, 60) are located. Joining rotating bodies 70, 70 are arranged on both the upper and lower directions of joining parts, and the small diametered part 72 is thrusted into the joining part while being rotated, and is made to travel in the horizontal direction along the longitudinal direction of the joining part. At the time of frictional-stirring joining, the upper side rotating body 70 is positioned so that the boundary surface 73 between a large diametered part 71 and a small diametered part 72 may be positioned at a level 73a a little upper than the upper surface of the plate 51, 61, and the lower joining rotating body 70 is positioned so that the boundary surface 73 may be positioned a little lower than the lower surface of the plate 52, 62.
