PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket for building, composed of an ethylene-α-olefin- nonconjugated diene vulcanized rubber composition and capable of preventing the peeling of a silicone-based or modified silicone-based sealing material from glass and the deterioration of the strength of a silicone-based or modified silicone-based sealing material in the case of using the gasket for building in contact with a silicone-based or modified silicone-based sealing material and using the silicone-based or modified silicon-based sealing material in contact with a glass. SOLUTION: The objective gasket for building use is composed of an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated diene vulcanized rubber composition containing a softener and having a kinetic viscosity of >=120 cSt at 40 deg.C and a %CA value of <=2 measured in conformity to ASTM D3238-80. The gasket is used in contact with a silicone-based or modified silicone-based sealing material.
