PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out an optimum polishing condition which can enhance the polishing performance in a magnetic grinding method in which a mixed magnetic polishing agent in which ferromagnetic particles, abrasive gain and a binder are used, and to provide a magnetic grinding device which can uniformly polish a workpiece to be polished, irrespective of a thickness of the workpiece. SOLUTION: Ferromagnetic particles 2 are amorphous, having a hardness of not more than 100 Hv, and is coated thereover with a material having a low hardness. A binder 4 is fats having a melting point of 30 to 65 deg.C. A mixed polishing agent 1 is composed of 40 to 70 vol.% of the ferromagnetic particles, 15 to 35 vol.% of abrasive grain and 15 to 35 vol.% of the binder. Further, in a magnetic grinding device comprising a magnetic flux measuring unit for detecting a number of magnetic fluxes of a magnetic circuit, and accordingly, the power of an electromagnet is adjusted in accordance with a variation in the number of the magnetic fluxes in order to polish a nonmagnetic workpiece to be polished, having locally different thickness with a predetermined polishing pressure. |
