TITANIUM BASE METALLIC MATERIAL HAVING THICK FILM OF TITANIUM OXIDE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a titanium base metallic material having an oxide film having a sufficient film thickness and firmly adhered to the titanium base metallic material being a base material and to provide a method for producing it. SOLUTION: This titanium base metallic material has a titanium oxide film having 10 to 150μm thickness in at least a part of the surface. In the method for producing the titanium base metallic material having the titanium oxide film, the titanium base metallic material is heated in the air to form a titanium oxide film having >=5μm thickness at least in a part of the surface of the material, and, thereafter, heating is executed by high-frequency induction heat plasma using an inert gas as a working gas.
