PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely safely obtain an acetylamine compound useful as an intermediate for medicines, agrochemicals, etc., in a good yield simply on operations by using a phenylsulfonylmethylcarbanion. SOLUTION: This method for producing an acetylamine compound of formula III comprises reacting a compound of formula I (W is a 1-3C linear alkylene; R is an alkyl) with a compound of the formula: M-CH2SO2Ar (M is an alkali metal; Ar is an aryl) and then subjecting the obtained suflone compound of formula II to a desulfurization reaction. Amurubicin hydrochloride is obtained by the method comprising reacting a compound of formula IV with a compound of the formula: M-CH2SO2Ar, applying a desulfurization reaction to the obtained sulfone compound, acylating the obtained acetylamine compound of formula V, further acetalizing the acetylated compound, reacting the obtained compound with a halogenating agent, treating the reaction product with an acid, glycosylating the obtained compound, hydrolyzing the product and subsequently converting the hydrolyzate to the hydrochloride.
