PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the cutting of a half-opened skin of a rod-shaped food material by opening and closing a cutting opening even if the shutter pieces are thermally expanded by the change of ambient temperature. SOLUTION: The shutter 7 of the apparatus is composed of a combination of n-tuple shutter pieces 15 ((n) is an integer of >=3) each having adjacent cutting face 17 and sliding face 19. The cutting face 17 of each shutter piece 15 is provided with an edge 17a to cut the outer skin W1 before closing a cutting opening 9. The sliding state of the sliding face 19 of a shutter piece 15 and the cutting face 17 of the adjacent shutter piece 15 is maintained by a slide- holding tool 21. The shutter pieces 15 are supported in a horizontally movable state with corresponding n-tuple vertical shafts 49 arranged at regular intervals on a prescribed circle S. The n-tuple shutter pieces 15 are synchronously reciprocated in horizontal direction with a swinging apparatus to effect the opening and closure of the shutter pieces. |
