Process for continuously forming sheet material from a liquid, especially a latex, comprises (a) depositing a layer of liquid on a forming element under-going displacement, the element having projections bordering open parts, (b) spreading out the liquid with a spreading element to form the outer surface of the materail, (c) controlling the thickness of the material during the gelling to a sheet of the whole thickness of the deposited material, (d) removing the sheet material from successive adjoining parts of the forming surface, and (e) returning the adjoining parts of the forming surface to the place of depositing. The sheet material has a high uniform quality. |
