PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of reducing the number of driving circuits to be equal to or smaller than the square root of a display capacity and its driving method. SOLUTION: Plural resistances of a pattern resistance part 8 are respectively connected to respective driving circuits of at least one side of first and second driving circuits 3, 6, 7 respectively impressing a scanning signal and an information signal on scanning electrodes and information electrodes in parallel. Then, respective electrodes of one side of at least plural scanning electrodes and information electrodes and at least two driving circuits are connected with the resistances in a matrix by a matrix connection part 9 and the scanning signal and the information signal are impressed only on the electrodes only when prescribed signals are impressed on all of driving circuits to be connected to respective electrodes.
