<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protecting system for a vehicle and its device and method for determining a collision form to determine the collision form of the vehicle appropriately through the use of the correlation in the detection output of a plurality of acceleration sensors to the acceleration of the vehicle at the time of a collision. SOLUTION: Both G sensors 40L and 40R detect both acceleration which occurs at both side parts of the width of a vehicle at the time of the collision of the vehicle. A G sensor 30 detects acceleration which occurs approximately at the center part of both longitude and width of the vehicle. A collision determining circuit Sa determines a pole collision, distinguishing it from a head-on collision and an offset collision through the use of the correlation among the integral values of the detected acceleration of the G sensors 40L, 40R, and 30.</p> |
