PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to select a display color arbitrarily even when a display is hard to see depending on a situation in the case the user uses a portable telephone set or the like having a liquid crystal display part in a gloomy car or a bed-room and even when a favorite color or an easy-to-see color or the like is different due to sensitivity, the distinction of sex or age or the like of individual persons. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a liquid crystal display part 2 of a light interference color type in which a light transmission intensity is controlled by an impression voltage and the position of the peak of transmitted lights dependes on the wavelength of an incident light, a dial 3 which is to be operated by the user and a volume 4 which changes a voltage to be impressed on the liquid crystal display part 2 in order to change a display color in the liquid crystal display part which performs the transmitting and the shielding of a light by the operation of the user.
