1,260,928. Toothed gearing. SOC. LAMY D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES " SOLER". 27 March, 1969 [2 April, 1968], No. 16123/69. Heading F2Q. Continuous rotation of a driving element 1 produces in a driven element 6 a cycle of motion including part at constant speed when a gear segment 5, 5<SP>1</SP> meshes with a gear segment 13, 13<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>11</SP> and a portion at variable speed when roller cam followers 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP>, 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP> on the element 6 follow cam surfaces 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 4, 4<SP>1</SP> on the element 1, each cam surface being shaped to produce a smooth transition from the gear teeth drive at its start to the gear teeth drive at its finish via a desired motion (e.g. a pause), there being at least one cam follower 8, 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP> or 9, 9<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP> and surface 3, 3<SP>1</SP> or 4, 4<SP>1</SP> for each direction of rotation. The gear segments 5, 5<SP>1</SP> may be of different radius in a modified arrangement, Figs. 7 to 9 (not shown). |
