<p>A force-responsive sensor is mounted within flexible material 50a running alongside a top frame member of a window opening. The sensor 5 comprises an upper flexible and resilient layer 10 supporting a continuous longitudinally extending conductive strip 14. This upper layer 10 is spaced from a similar layer 16 supporting a continuous longitudinally extending conductive strip 18, the two layers 10,16 being separated from each other by insulating spacers 12A,12B spaced at intervals along the length of the sensor. Any obstruction in the window opening is carried upwardly by the rising window glass and applies a force F to the flexible material 50A. A ridge 71 in the lower wall of the hollow chamber 70 responds by causing contact between the two conductive strips 14,18 to produce a warning signal.</p> |
