PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an angiitis treatment agent effective for promoting the activation of protein C with thrombin by including a thrombomodulin containing a specific amino acid sequence as an active component. SOLUTION: This treating agent has an action to promote the activation of protein C with thrombin and contains a peptide having an amino acid sequence of 19-140 of formula I. The peptide is preferably a thrombomodulin having an amino acid sequence of 19-140 of formula I and an amino acid sequence of 19-132 of formula II or containing an amino acid sequence of 19-132 of formula II wherein one or plural amino acids are substituted, deleted or added. The peptide is preferably soluble in the absence of surfactant. The soluble peptide can be produced by a transformed cell prepared by transfecting a host cell with a DNA coding for a specific amino acid sequence. |
