PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coating compositions capable of forming coated films having both of the excellent properties of inorganic substances and organic substances such as high hardness and, in addition, flexibility. SOLUTION: The objective coating compositions comprise colloidal silica having silanol groups in its surface; a polyisocyanate having blocked isocyanate groups by a blocking agent which reacts with the silanol groups in the surface of the colloidal silica to form a coated film; and water which disperses or dissolves these components thereinto.
