PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag of a side air bag device which can exhibit the tension especially to the lower edge side of an air bag main body at the expansion time of the air bag. SOLUTION: An air bag 20 is provided with a flexible air bag main body 21 and belt part 32. The air bag main body 21 is provided with an expansion part 22 expanding so as to block the opening of a car inside at the spreading and expanding time and also the tension is added to the lower edge 21a side by the belt part 32. In the air bag main body 21, a vertical rod 25 expanding columnarly to nearly vertical direction is arranged on the rear end side of a main part 23 in the expansion part 22. In the belt part 32, the base parts 32b, 32c sides are connected to the periphery edge of the vertical rod 25 and the tip part 32d is stuck to the stick position P of the periphery edge of the opening and at the spreading and expanding time of the air bag main body 21, the vertical rod 25 is pulled so that the lower end 25b side is rotated around the upper end 25a side to the rearside separating from the main part 23.
