FIELD: equipment for plasma cutting, namely in machine engineering, metallurgical and other industry branches for manual and automatic cutting. SUBSTANCE: housing of plasmatron includes main ducts for passing cooling air and plasma generating air. Cathode, insulator, nozzle and outer sleeve forming with nozzle annular gap are mounted in housing. Main ducts are coaxial relative to housing. Additional ducts join annular gap with atmosphere. Additional ducts are formed in protective sleeve in level of output cross section of main ducts and they are arranged between main ducts uniformly along circle and inclined relative to direction of cooling air flow by angle no more than 90 degrees. Such structure of plasmatron allows to increase strength of its members by 1.5-2 times due to reduced non-uniformity of temperature field along cross section of plasmatron parts.
