PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube capable of providing a uniform focus over a whole area of a screen by the relatively low dynamic voltage. SOLUTION: In a color picture tube in which the self-concentration is realized by deflecting three electron beams arranged in one row to be emitted from an electron gun 17 by the non-uniform magnetic field of a deflecting yoke, first and second auxiliary grids GS1, GS2 are arranged between second and third grids G2, G3 of the electron gun, the dynamic voltage to be changed synchronous to the deflection of the electron beam is applied to a first auxiliary grid on the second grid side, and a specified voltage is applied to the second auxiliary grid GS2 on the third grid side. An electron lens in which the convergence in the direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction of three electron beams has stronger astigmatism than that of the convergence in the arrangement direction and whose intensity is dynamically changed, is formed by the second grid G2, the first and second auxiliary grids GS1, GS2, and the third grid G3.
