A dampened mounting for a latch for a vehicle door lock, eg. for a rear hatch, has a bar (2) with the latch (3) in the center and with the end fitted to the vehicle via elastic mountings. The elastic mountings are contained in box shaped fittings assembled by several sections and effectively isolate the door from vehicle vibrations, ensuring a safe and stable grip. Each elastomer block is made up of two blocks vulcanized to parts of the box fitting, and providing an elastic support in the direction of the force vector (F) on the catch.
