PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a detecting device by using a potentiometer as a detecting sensor for the revolving angle of an automatically operated shovel. SOLUTION: An automatically operated shovel is provided with a control valve 206 for driving the actuator of a hydraulic shovel, angle detectors 202 to 204, 208 for detecting the revolving angle of respective articulations of the front mechanism of the hydraulic shovel and the revolving angle of a revolving body, and an automatically operated controller 201 successively reading the taught teaching position data and controlling a control valve by setting the present position data obtained from the angle detector against the teaching position data. In this case, the angle detector 208 for detecting the revolving angle is composed of a potentiometer rotatable in 360 degrees and outputting plurality of different signals corresponding to the revolving angle.
