PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP(plasma display panel) uniformalizing temperature distribution over the whole surface of the panel, and preventing break of the panel caused by heat distortion, to secure airtightness of the panel. SOLUTION: A heat conducting plate 10 is set on the whole rear surface 1R of the panel 1, and a duct cover 50 is set above the heat conducting plate 10 so as to cover the whole rear surface 1R. Fans 601, 602 are mounted on the outer surface of the duct cover 50 opposite to the vicinity of the center of the rear surface 1R. The air introduced into the duct cover 50 by the fans 601, 602 (see arrows A121, A122) flows in gaps 13 along the heat conducting plate 10 toward arrows A131, A132, to be discharged out of the PDP. An effective part 100A being a source of heat is cooled by the air flow by the fans 601, 602. Further, the heat generated in the effective part 100A is transferred to areas 100B outside the effective part, through the heat conducting plate 10 and the air heated as it passes the effective part 100A.
